How to play Delta Traders

Delta Traders is an original trading and strategy board game for 2 to 4 players. Claim river-delta plots, trade goods at a market where prices move and fill contracts to be first to 12 stars. A game takes about 25 minutes.

How to play Delta Traders

  1. Roll the tide

    Roll the terrain die and number die. Matching plots pay goods to their owners.

  2. Build and trade

    Spend goods on docks, trading posts and markets. Sell at the harbor or trade with players.

  3. Fill contracts

    Deliver the goods a contract asks for to earn stars. First to 12 stars wins.

Complete Delta Traders rules

Setup

Build the delta from 20 plots of land, each with a number from 1 to 6 except the harbor market. Each player places one trading post and one dock, and takes 2 coins.

Your turn

Roll the terrain die and the number die. Every plot matching both pays one good to each post on it, or two to a market. Then build, trade with players, and buy or sell at the harbor.

Storm and market

If the terrain die shows the storm, move it onto another plot. That plot pays nothing until the storm moves. Selling a good lowers its market price by one, and buying raises it.

Winning

Posts are worth 1 star, markets 2, and each contract shows its reward. The first player to reach 12 stars wins at the end of their turn.

  • Claim plots with different numbers so you earn goods on more rolls.
  • Sell when a good’s price is high and buy after it drops.
  • Race for contracts your rivals can’t fill yet.
