Complete Spider rules

Setup

Deal 54 cards into ten columns, six cards in each of the first four and five in the other six. Only the top card of each column is face up. The other 50 cards form the stock.

Moving cards

Place any card on one of the next higher rank, whatever its suit. You can move several cards at once only when they form a run in one suit. Any card or run can fill an empty column.

Dealing

When you’re stuck, deal ten cards from the stock, one onto each column. Every column needs at least one card before you deal.

Winning

A complete run from King to Ace in one suit is removed automatically. Clear all eight runs to win.

Tips to win at Spider

  • Build in one suit whenever you can. Mixed runs can’t be moved together.
  • Empty a column before you deal. It is the most powerful space you have.
  • Uncover cards in the shortest columns first to create empty columns sooner.
